The nearest mountain hut is Kalser Tauernhaus, located 4km southeast. A little further is bivouac Karl-Fürst-Hütte. 3 km north from the saddle there is glacier Granatspitzkees, 4 km south from the saddle there is also glacier Gradötzkees. The saddle is located above the valley Dorfer Tal.
