The nearest mountain hut is Kalser Tauernhaus, located 4km south-southeast. A little further is bivouac Karl-Fürst-Hütte. 1.9 km north-northwest from the saddle there is glacier Granatspitzkees, 3 km east-southeast from the saddle there is also glacier Vorderes Kastenkees. The saddle is located above the valley Dorfer Tal.
