The nearest mountain hut is St. Pöltner Hütte, located 3km northwest. A little further is bivouac Karl-Fürst-Hütte. 4 km east from the saddle there is glacier Landeggkees, 5 km east from the saddle there is also glacier Sonnblickkees. Southwest of the saddle is the valley Tauerntal.
