Schwarzkogel is 2866 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 1.5 km west-southwest of peak Kalser Bärenkopf. The nearest mountain hut is Staudleralm, located 4km west-southwest. A bit closer is bivouac Karl-Fürst-Hütte, which is located 3km to the north-northwest. 1.6 km northeast from the summit there is glacier Granatspitzkees, 3 km north-northeast from the summit there is also glacier Sonnblickkees. The peak is located west of the valley Dorfer Tal.
