Spitzkogel is 2606 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located in country Austria 3 km south-southeast from the center of Außergschlöß and 4 km southeast from the center of Innergschlöß. The nearest mountain hut is Staudleralm, located 3km east. A little further is bivouac Karl-Fürst-Hütte. 5 km west from the summit there is glacier Karleskees, 6 km west from the summit there is also glacier Kristallwandkees. The peak is located in the valley Tauerntal.
