Hochwacht is 2105 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 4 km south-southwest from the center of Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße and 10 km south-southeast from the center of Kaprun. The nearest mountain hut is Gleiwitzer Hütte, located 4km northwest. A little further is Bichl Alm. 4 km southwest from the summit there is glacier Sandbodenkees, 4 km west-southwest from the summit there is also glacier Walcher Kees. South of the summit is the valley Käfertal.
