The nearest mountain hut is Gruttenhütte, located 1.9km east-southeast. Even closer is bivouac Babenstuberhütte, which is located 1.0km to the east. 6 km west-southwest of the peak there is lake Hintersteiner See. Northeast of the summit is the valley Kaiserbachtal.
