Thannköpfl is 2066 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 1.5 km east-northeast of peak Breitkopf. The nearest mountain hut is Hochalm, located 5km southeast. A bit closer is Winkler Hochalm, which is located 1.2km to the northeast. 0.7 km southwest of the peak there is lake Archensee. Southwest of the summit is the valley Käfertal.
