Roter Palfen is 2611 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 1.0 km west of peak Hocheiser. The nearest mountain hut is Fürthermoaralm/Ebmatten, located 5km northeast. Closer is Wurf Hochalm, which is located 3km to the north-northwest. South-southeast of the peak there is lake Unterer Kleineisersee. 0.9 km northeast from the summit there is glacier Schwarzkarlkees, 1.4 km east-northeast from the summit there is also glacier Oberes Hocheiserkees. Southwest of the summit is the valley Dorfer Tal.
