Schafkogel is 542 meter high peak and is part of the Upper Austrian Prealps. The peak is located 3 km north-northwest from the center of Küpfern and 3 km east-southeast from the center of Großraming. The nearest mountain hut is Stallburgalm, located 5km south. A bit closer is bivouac Großraming Hintstein, which is located 1.5km to the west-northwest. Northwest of the summit is the valley Neustiftgraben.
