Oischingkogel is 1606 meter high peak and is part of the Ybbstal Alps. The peak is located 5 km west-southwest from the center of Rasing and 5 km west-northwest from the center of Gußwerk. The nearest mountain hut is Terzerhaus, located 7km north. Closer is Farnbodenhütte, which is located 2km to the east-northeast. 5 km north-northeast of the peak there is lake Erlaufsee. West of the summit is the valley Im Tiefen Grund.
