Smrekovec is 959 meter high peak. The peak is located 2.0 km north of peak Šop (Novaška gora). The nearest mountain hut is Planinska koča na Krimu, located 5km northeast. Closer is bivouac Lovska koča Plehanov laz, which is located 3km to the north. Northwest of the summit is the valley Ljubljansko barje and a marked path leads to the top.
