Brandriedel is 1725 meter high peak and is part of the Dachstein Mountains. The peak is located 1.7 km east of peak Durchat and vzhodno above the mountain pasture Schlitzenalm. The nearest mountain hut is Austriahütte, located 0.4km north. A little further is bivouac Ramsau Schi Willy/Rittislift. 4 km north-northeast from the summit there is glacier Schladminger Gletscher, 5 km north-northwest from the summit there is also glacier Großer Gosaugletscher. South of the summit is the valley Preunegg.
