Ochsenberg is 1660 meter high peak and is part of the Gurktal Alps. The peak is located 2 km east-southeast from the center of Amberg and 3 km north from the center of Puch. The nearest mountain hut is Schwarzseehütte, located 1.3km north-northeast. A little further is Berger Alm. 6 km north of the peak there is lake Afritzer See. South of the summit is the valley Drautal.
