Vorderes Modereck is 2615 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 4 km south-southwest of peak Schaflegerkopf. The nearest mountain hut is Rauriser Tauernhaus, located 3km north. bivouac Otto-Umlauft-Biwak is a bit further away. 4 km east-southeast from the summit there is glacier Krumlkees, 5 km west from the summit there is also glacier Brennkogelkees. The peak is located northwest of the valley Großfleißtal.
