Unterer Muntanitzpalfen is 3066 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 6 km east-northeast from the center of Berg and 7 km east-northeast from the center of Gruben. The nearest mountain hut is Sudetendeutsche Hütte, located 2km southwest. A little further is bivouac Karl-Fürst-Hütte. Southwest from the summit there is glacier Gradötzkees, 5 km northeast from the summit there is also glacier Vorderes Kastenkees. The peak is located west-southwest of the valley Dorfer Tal.
