Unterer Eisstein is 2654 meter high peakon which a cross stands and is part of the Dachstein Mountains. The peak is located 0.8 km north of peak Westliches Dirndl. The nearest mountain hut is Seethalerhütte, located 0.7km south-southwest. And bivouac Modereck is also close by. 1.5 km west-northwest from the summit there is glacier Großer Gosaugletscher, 1.6 km southeast from the summit there is also glacier Schladminger Gletscher. South of the summit is the valley Preunegg.
