Jakobov vrh is 638 meter high peak. The peak is located 4 km south-southwest of peak Vinji vrh. The nearest mountain hut is Planinski dom na Slivnici, located 6km southeast. A little further is hunting cottage Lovska koča v Prangerju. West-northwest of the summit is the valley Planinsko polje.
