Volčja njiva is 592 meter high peak. The peak is located 1.2 km east-southeast from the center of Podgora and 1.6 km west-southwest from the center of Gorenja vas. The nearest mountain hut is Dom na Slajki, located 3km northwest. A little further is bivouac Zavetišče gorske straže na Jelencih. Northwest of the summit is the valley Baška grapa.
