Veliki vrh is 1377 meter high peak located in the Julian Alps mountain range. The peak is located 1.6 km east-northeast of peak Matajur and jugo-jugozahodno above the mountain pasture Svinska planina. The nearest mountain hut is Rifugio Alpino Guglielmo Pelizzo, located 1.6km south-southwest. Avsa 22 is also relatively close. Northeast of the summit is the valley Dolina Lepene.
