Drnovec is 569 meter high peak located in the Julian Alps mountain range. The peak is located 0.6 km southwest from the center of Njivica and 1.5 km south from the center of Rovte. The nearest mountain hut is lovska koča, located 4km east-northeast. A little further is bivouac Gozdarske koče Martinček. Northwest of the summit is the valley Stresena dolina.
