Description:
Gamstod (Hohe Warte) is 3127 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 8 km east-northeast from the center of Predoi and 11 km west-northwest from the center of Hinterbichl and 0.7 km west of peak Hoher Rosshuf. The nearest mountain hut is Birnlückenhütte - Rifugio Brigata Tridentina, located 2km north. bivouac Neugersdorfer Hütte is a bit further away. 7 km northwest of the peak there is lake Eissee. North from the summit there is glacier Westliches Kerrakees, 0.6 km east-southeast from the summit there is also glacier Windtalkees. The peak is located north-northwest of the valley Umbaltal.
