This January was special because after strong wind episodes, the high summits were completely blown clean and snow-free. So, we tried to take the bike up to a peak over 2800 m which, from the valley, seemed doable. But it turned into a real mission: first, extreme cold that exhausts you all day long. Then a huge distance on totally unfriendly terrain. 26 km, including 10 km of carrying, that's long. But add that there are almost no trails, that frozen snow plates make everything slippery, and it becomes hellish! And the whole thing was marked by multiple incidents that delayed us, forced us to change itinerary and finish at night! According to Dimitri, it's in our top 5 biggest ordeals.
