Description: © CLAUDIO MORTINI™◊ Hall in Tirol is located only 10 km east of Innsbruck, in front of the impressive Bettelwurf massif. Already in 1232 Hall was mentioned as a salina, the salt mine in the Halltal valley represented the city's most important economic sector from the 13th century until 1967. The salt was transported e.g. along the salt road to Matrei am Brenner and even exported to Switzerland, the Black Forest and the Rhine region. In 1303 Hall was granted civic rights.
