The village of San Gimignano, rich in charm and history, is located almost halfway between Florence and Siena,
The city was built on a hill about 300 meters high and enjoys a privileged view of the characteristic landscape of the surrounding Val d'Elsa. The hill, as evidenced by various finds in the municipal territory, was inhabited since the Etruscan and Hellenistic period, probably due to its dominant position that allowed easy control of the valley.
