Description:
Huayhuash Cordillera
It is a cordillera in the Andes of Peru. It runs from north to south, the main area with about twenty summits spans approximately 25 km, with a secondary mountain chain of lower summits to the west that is about 15 km long. Six peaks exceed 6000 m. Among the summits stand out Yerupajá (6617 m), the second highest mountain in Peru (after Huascarán with 6768 m), and Siula Grande (6344 m), which gained fame from the work Touching the Void by mountaineer Joe Simpson.
