Description:
Ascent from the French village of Baztide near Bidarrai. Through a forest to the bottom of the Gapelu cirque, then up the slopes for an airy horizontal traverse until finding the start of the Iparla couloir, marked by a cairn (in summer it is covered by vegetation, so be very careful not to miss it). Once up the steep couloir, one reaches the Iparla col on the summit crest, linking with the GR from Bidarrai. Just a few last metres to the summit, recognisable by a geodetic vertex. The views, plunging over the valley, are spectacular.
