(Mountain guide) One of the legends tells of an evil dragon who lived in a cirque high above Zlomiska, where he was served by the most beautiful girl from the Podtatranský Mengusovce. Everyone feared him until the desperate mother of the kidnapped girl, convinced that in her greatest need she recognized the right incantation, went to the mountains to put an end to him. And when she did not lose her courage even standing face to face with the hissing, fire-spitting and tail-lashing monster, she threatened with her fist and boldly shouted: "I curse you with a stone spell so that you never do evil to people again," the dragon staggered, reared up for the last time and then calmed down – truly petrified by the stone curse. The jagged and twisted ridge that runs from Vysoká to the south and southeast are the remains of the dragon, and that's why we now speak of Dragon Ridge, Dragon Head, Dragon Saddles, Dragon Teeth, and Dragon Peak. The tears of happiness shed by the brave mother and her beautiful daughter when they fearlessly fell into each other's arms trickled to the bottom of the former dragon's nest and formed Dragon Lake.
