Description:
I hadn't done a winter ascent of this peak yet, so on the first beautiful day, my girlfriend Katka and I set off upwards. Very little snow, crampons struggled on icy rocks... Snow just three fingers deep, more in hollows, up to half a meter in gullies. Plus 8 degrees didn't bode well. Deeper snow slid down over ice, so at 2500 m we turned back.
