Start around 8:00 in Gramais 1300m down to Rosskarbach and up to Hirschhals. There follow the ridge to Hirschhalskopf at over 2000m. Continue along the ridge leaving the turn-off to Schafkarsee on the right on the Heinzensprossensteig towards Roßkarsee. About 25 min before reaching it, steeply pathless up the grass slope to the right, aiming for two large rock boulders. Left of the larger one, a mark shows the entry into the crumbly ascent gully. In it or where possible detouring into the right boundary rocks up to the saddle on the south ridge (II to II+). Following it in a few minutes easier again to the wooden cross. Down as up and continue on the path to the beautiful Roßkarsee at about 2300m. From there over Roßkarfälle and Pletschiger Boden along Roßkarbach down into Rosskartal and through partly tricky pines and finally through the forest back to Gramais. A truly beautiful, varied day tour.
