At 6:50 a.m. I am ready to depart and get ice from the machine. I drive to ihop, in the morning it is 53 °F / 11.7 °C.

At 9 a.m. I am at Douglas Spring TH and start a large loop in the eastern part of Saguaro NP. I had actually planned a loop but couldn't quite find the entry point. There are many small trails not marked either on my printout or on the signposts. Eventually I am on track and from then on it is easy to follow my pre-planned route.
