Description:
Ascent from the La Mina area in Guarrinza (Selva de Oza). An itinerary much less frequented than the classic route from Linza refuge.
r
From La Mina we ascend the entire Acherito valley, which later turns into a ravine up to the free hut El Puerto de Acherito. Up to that point, it's a pleasant walk. From there, the real slopes begin. Along the left grassy slopes, try to reach a path visible at the bottom and higher up. Until reaching it, go cross-country, passing scree in places. After a while, we reach the scree area leading to Collado del Huerto. There's a clear path through the uncomfortable scree, but right against the wall we'll find a faint path avoiding the rocks and much more comfortable. Once at the pass, we see the impressive Gamuetas walls. A short scramble marked by a cairn takes us to an upper terrace, from which we take the path to the pass before the final slope of Acherito. The summit climb is very marked, changing flank at the end.
