Description:
The Waxenberg castle ruins from the 12th century count among the oldest castles of the Mühlviertel.
Unfortunately, the tooth of time has severely damaged the structure and only sparse remains of the castle are present. However, the round bergfried with its observation platform is noteworthy, which is really very well preserved or renovated and offers a dreamlike view over the Mühlviertel and to the south and southwest a magnificent view to the Alps.
