Amelia, a city in Umbria surrounded by powerful polygonal walls, where different eras and styles coexist in harmony.
The primitive settlement developed in pre-Roman times on the acropolis, from which it dominated the underlying territory consisting of scattered settlements. The construction of the polygonal walls, carried out starting from the mid-3rd century BC, gave the city its definitive conformation corresponding to the current historic center.
