Description: A few kilometers after Lizartza (towards Pamplona), we park at an old Mikeletes house, now renovated. It's the Illarrazu area. Left of the building we see GR 121 markers. We follow them along a rocky path ascending parallel to a stream with an orange pipeline. We continue following the markers that veer left up the slopes, from pine to beech. We pass a large stone stable with a spectacular wooden roof structure. Following the markers we join the PR from Lizartza and reach Collado de Arrume with a wooden signpost with arrows. ATTENTION. At this point GR turns left into forest towards Orexa. DO NOT GO THERE. Continue straight uphill to a shepherds' hut with a small solar panel tower (Urkieta visible behind). After passing it, enter a pinewood and see a fork. Take the left uphill one (notice faded old GR 121 markers on a tree, the Gipuzkoa loop). After a while the track levels for meters in a curve and starts gently descending. There, take a small path left into pines (marked by ground cairn). This path leads to a fence by a stone milestone. Now the hardest part. Following tree-painted blazes on a sometimes faint path, climb a steep slope through a beautiful beech forest. Up top, out of forest grass mixes with rock. Continuing along the ridge, reach the logbox.
