Description: I went to Iceland! During the strictest lockdown, it might seem like a strange, perhaps even selfish idea. But when a volcano erupts just two thousand kilometers from my home, COVID-19 had to step aside. The volcano won't wait. There was no point agonizing over the slobbered keyboard watching the live stream of the greatest imaginable natural show. It was like a magnet that put the backpack on my back itself, patted my shoulders, and said: "Come to me, boy, I'm waiting for you here!" That invitation rang in my ears for days, before sleep and after waking. I couldn't help it. I also took the Icelandic government's decision for an exemption from mandatory quarantine for those who had recovered from the Chinese flu as a clear sign – the exemption lasted until the end of March, and I just barely made it. I see it as the most beautiful plaster for the endured infection. I see it as a gift, the chance to turn that illness into something good, to forge good from bad, just like so many times before.
