Description: Ideal autumn tour where the brutally steep uphill in the upper section runs through open ski piste terrain and in summer one is mercilessly exposed to the blazing sun! We start in St. Michael im Lungau and ride first the Mur cycle path then the forest road to Katschbergpass - after 9 km turn left onto a forest path with no-entry for 1 km and reach the ski pistes of St. Margerethen. The gravel road continues to Kößlbacheralm. From here it goes on brutally steep ramps - demanding extreme muscle power for 'BIO-BIKERS' - we were lucky the road was nicely compact and not loose gravelly. On 4 km you tackle 430 uphill meters to Aineck summit! At Adlerhorst at 2,210 m you arrive proud and enjoy the magnificent 360° panorama. For downhill we follow the 'Arnoweg' or Nockbergetrail in light intervals to Teuerlnock 2,145 m. From here the trail drops directissima through magnificent blueberry fields down to Laußnitzhöhe and always along the fence towards Bonnerhütte. Soon you cross the fence and get 'Canada feeling' on the descent to Bonnerhütte junction - which requires another 15 min uphill. But we continue downhill right away through the unique high moorland - where the path is boardwalked. On Esseralm we briefly follow the gravel road and soon turn left onto WW 'Arnoweg' an old Roman road - along the wildly romantic Leißnitzbach in gliding descent to St. Margarethen, where we roll back 5 km on Mur-RW to St. Michael.
