Description: The Altberg Castle near Regensdorf in Switzerland dates back to the nobleman Lütold von Affoltern and was probably built around 1040 as the ancestral seat of the Lords of Regensberg. Where the Regensbergers originally came from is not exactly known. It is suspected that they were settled in the Mâcon area. The Regensberg family was very powerful, and its possessions were widely scattered. The Regensbergers were among other things the founders of the monasteries Fahr and Rüti and the towns Regensberg and Glanzenberg.
