Description: ROUTE: CIRCULAR; DISTANCE: 17.30 KM; DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM-HIGH; DURATION: 7 HOURS; TOTAL ELEVATION GAIN: 1600 m. We arrive at Paraje Los Cerecillos and leave car before track junction at 1700 m, very near Sulayr trail crossing. Refuge Los Cerecillos very close, under 500 m. Unfortunately not advisable to use due poor condition. Closed and bad habit of break-ins (burglar style), ruined and disgusting state. (But construction looks ok). Start day ascending few meters to left track junction. Turn on it finding snow both sides. Link to Sulayr trail to firebreak loma Majada de las Vacas. Walked less than 1 km and here GR-240 continues on track. We leave it to ascend directly firebreak. Slowly to warm up after Christmas excesses. (haha) As ascending snow gains ground. Firebreak turns west comfortably to geodetic point Majada de las Vacas 2116 m. Reach it short stop for views. South Sierra Gador all white north face. Cloud sea covers Mediterranean further south. Main three-thousanders Sierra Nevada, Mulhacen Alcazaba among west. Almirez all Almeria part peaks north. 2.8 km traveled approx 400 m gain. Descend rocks of geopoint continue firebreak slight descent to Gabiarra mines. Link track from Minillas refuge. Walk lots snow raquets would help not sink. Along ridge to Chullo bit over 1 km leave track. Ascend to Almeria Sierra Nevada ridge snow allows good walking. Before last pines see fox sunbathing lets photograph. Reach 2330 m views both sides.
