Description: It was August 11 when I tackled this ascent, not demanding in elevation gain (1300 m, starting altitude 1619 m, summit altitude 2852 m) but for some very exposed passages (not recommended for the faint-hearted). I then lingered to photograph some of the artistic wooden and stone plaques on the houses of the Rochemolles hamlet. Interesting also the small ethnographic museum present. As always, these seemingly hard-to-reach places, once snow-covered for many months, were actually extremely vital and rich in culture.
