Tue, 24.05.2022 Grand Canyon NP, Hermit Trail down to Hermit Creek
At 7 a.m. I am awake and read a bit on WhatsApp. Just before 8 a.m. I go for breakfast, in front of the lodge the passengers of TransCanyonShuttle are gathering, the only company offering commercial shuttles between North and South Rim. I chat briefly with the dispatcher, now 39 people are driving over to the North Rim, another 6 this afternoon. A few days ago there were 56. Unbelievable, when I used this shuttle in 2010 we were 8 hikers.
