A client of 8K Expeditions, Katya Lipka, a Russian who unfurled the Ukrainian flag at the top of Everest, was denied her summit certificate. Nepal may also ban her from entering the country for several years. Lipka shared her summit photos on Instagram and asked Putin to end the war. At the top of Everest, everything extraordinary requires prior authorization. Unfortunately for Lipka, when her post went viral, it reached members of Nepal's parliament, controlled by the country's Communist Party.
