The Mammut Smart is the classic among assisted-braking devices and particularly popular with children due to its generous rope-payout horn. However, 'normal' rope payout as some are used to from the tube is almost impossible, as the device reacts very sensitively and locks immediately with slightly thicker ropes. The optional SMARTER ensures that the device locks even if the brake strand runs in very steeply. Very smart for beginners and in training courses.
