Description:
Vulin stream is a left tributary of Buna and is of torrent character. Its canyon, with the construction of a secured via ferrata wire path, has become accessible to non-alpinists. The ferrata was built by the Youth Club “Novi Val” from Blagaj. It is short but serious and requires some skill in moving on ferrata and technical equipment: climbing harness, helmet and via ferrata set (or prusik and 2 carabiners). It starts at the Blagaj Eco-center, accessible by car via walkway and gravel road, and contains an artificial rock for sport climbing. It is desirable to report to the duty officer at the trail entrance, where full ferrata equipment can be rented for 30 KM, with group discounts for larger groups. One-time fee of 4 KM for ferrata maintenance (optional). The ferrata has ladders, holds and steel steps, while the cable is strong and reliable with easy-to-pass knots. The “via ferrata” consists of several jumps, the largest with a height of 30 m. On the last jump, when passing the knot on the cable, secure to the installed bolt. In addition to passing through the attractive 1,000 m long canyon, white-headed vultures living here might scare you. After the canyon, the ferrata continues on a marked hiking trail towards the Old Fortress. From the fortress, there is a panoramic view of Bišće field, the trail descends along an easy tourist path and asphalt road through Bunski stream, crosses Buna on a footbridge before Tekija and returns to the start of the ferrata at the Eco center.
