Today we visit this beautiful town famous for its canals and its delicious chocolate.
Bruges, the capital of West Flanders in north-west Belgium, stands out for its canals, cobbled streets and medieval buildings. The port, Zeebrugge, is an important centre for fishing and European trade. Burg Square, in the city centre, preserves the Stadhuis (town hall) of the 14th century, characterised by a decorated and carved ceiling. Nearby, the market square hosts the Beffroi, a bell tower from the 13th century 83 m high, with panoramic view and a carillon of 47 bells.
