Description: Impressive mountain hike in Valais (Switzerland). From Fieschertal up to the idyllic Burghütte (1736 m). It lies above the heavily retreated Fieschergletscher. From the hut, no ice is visible anymore. The remaining glacier tongue is covered with debris. Next to Burghütte is the largest climbing area in Upper Valais with over fifty routes of all difficulty levels. On the descent back to the starting point, halfway I chose the detour up to Bellwald. That was another solid ascent. From the destination, the nostalgia cable car took me down to the valley to Fürgangen. – A special highlight of this tour is the Aspi-Titter suspension bridge with a span of 160 meters and height of 120 meters. It connects Fieschertal with Bellwald and spans the Weisswasserschlucht. The bridge is as described: gigantic, dreamy, elegant, and one of the most beautiful suspension bridges in the world. (Unfortunately, the bridge was still closed for winter, so I didn't get an adrenaline rush…) Tour data: 16 kilometers, 16,000 steps, 6:30 hours, ascent 975 Hm, descent 538 Hm. – Map material: Google Earth and Route Converter (Christian Pesch).
