Beautiful ascent to Europe's highest hut on Punta Gnifetti at 4554m on the Monte Rosa massif.

Start from the village of Alagna Valsesia (1200m), with 3 cable cars to Punta Indren (about 3200m). From there the path to Rifugio Gnifetti (3647m) where we stayed overnight. The next day starting from the hut itself, skirt the Lys Glacier (on the right is Piramide Vincent), to Colle del Lys (about 4200m). Spectacular 360° view of all the nearby 4000s (Lyskamm, Dufour, Punta Gnifetti, Parrot, Balmenhorn), then the last stretch to Capanna Margherita (4554m).
