Description:
Klingenberg was probably built towards the end of the 12th century. At that time it belonged to the Lords of Machland, from whom the castle passed to the Counts of Clam-Velburg after the death of Walchun IV of Clam. However, the first confirmed mention of the castle dates from 1217.
