Description:
Cerro Unión (3658 m asl) and Punta Rodríguez (3458 m asl) are two quite accessible mountains located in the Cajón del Morado, immediately south of Laguna El Morado and (what remains of) its hanging glacier. For this outing, we decided to leave on Thursday, December 8, in the afternoon toward the Alto Maipo facilities in Valle del Arenas, to bivouac next to the vehicle and attack the summits at dawn toward our objectives.
