'At the foot of the Matterhorn's south face, the Italian tourist and winter sports center Cervinia has developed from the shepherds' settlement of Breuil, whose poor huts are slowly decaying. Filled with the spirit of the modern age, technicians and engineers are building a modern winter sports resort there with skyscrapers, hotels, and cable cars that open up this new world. A boldly designed cable car brings skiers to the Plan Maison intermediate station, which is connected to Plateau Rosa at the foot of the Breithorn and to the 3500-meter-high Furggenköpfl. The facility has caused various protests because an extension to the summit of the Matterhorn is allegedly planned. (...) '
